I have no problem with anyone doing, or thinking, differently to me, old mate. Can I be clear, though, I've not decided against having a season ticket next year. Yet.
Do you want to compare the length and girth of our light sabres (said in the voice of James Earl Jones!)?
I'll keep going to majority of games, home and away, but I've already missed West Brom and won't be going to Boro. There is nothing worse than every game being like a trip to Hillsborough, ie you know however well you play, you're not going to win.
Likewise. Mate And was just pointing out I can’t personally fathom contemplating it. I am aware how much certain issues are hurting folk. Including myself. .
I go to oakwell to support whats on the pitch, good or bad and there been an abundance of both in my 37yrs of watcing. Am i happy with the current situation and the actions of our owners over the last few weeks - definitely not Will it stop me going this season or purchasing a season ticket next - Nah
Season ticket sufferer I’m missed a few games this season due to other commitments, in the past I’d have been gutted but this season it hasn’t bothered me.
ST Holder for the majority of the last 35 years apart from a break when I was at college/uni. Easy one first, I’m not bothered about the ‘experience’ I go for the football and tend to turn up 5-10 mins before, although I accept this isn’t everyone and a general comment I could make is nothing seems to have changed much in the last 5-10 years in terms of the quality of the offer in terms of food & drink, I do think the younger ones are catered for better though. I’ve not missed a home game yet this season but don’t go to very many away these days but that’s down to having a young family now not to do with Barnsley FC. I posted here the other Day in a different thread my frustrations - I think to try and make myself feel better by at least having a whinge! I posted about stopping going to spend time elsewhere, I think the reality is I’ll probably keep going unless the Mrs suggests something else specific - in the past if we were at home it would be Oakwell for sure but I definitely feel I’m open to missing the odd game now. Next season? I really don’t know, I don’t have the full day experience to tempt me, as in I don’t go to the pub first to see mates so that’s not a draw for me regardless of the match itself, I do though go with my dad and brother, so I think it will also depend on what they do. I just don’t know, I’m not bothered about losing it’s just the not having any hope. what I will say is I’ve never left early, ever, but against stoke if I wasn’t there with my dad who never leaves early Me and my brother would have walked after an hour.
I'm tempted to say I would get one if (when) we go down. More Saturday games and a chance of us actually winning some games. But then I think of the flat soulless atmosphere of league one games at Oakwell coupled with the realisation that if we did come back up I wouldn't want to renew. At the moment I don't think I will be renewing. If I don't, I know I won't come to any home games.
