For me the one in the second half looked clear cut and it could’ve changed the complexity of the game, 9 minutes later we was 4-1 down, ring margins!! Thought ref was ***** but can’t keep blaming officials every game, a don’t think we’ll get to 20 points if am been honest
If we were in league one we would have been given that all day long never seen anything like it took Thomas's legs and got none of the ball. We deserved nothing over the 90 minutes but potentially that could have changed the game
There was but up to that point we’d come out all guns blazing and was on top, my point being is that, that decision could’ve changed the game
They were looking a bit shaky and it could’ve gone either way had we got the penalty (and scored it). How the referee and linesman didn’t see it I’ll never know, couldn’t point to the spot quick enough after McClean went tumbling. Stoke fully deserved the win though.
Well we can, in as much as there were 3 clear cut pens. The handball was blatant. That said, you don’t deserve anything for that kind of defending.
My point was that we didn't lose as a result of poor officials. After watching the us concede more soft goals I don't think there is any dispute about that.
Straight after our first Chaplin went through and we were bang in line with him and he was a yard onside. Blind tw4t lino gave offside though. Officials were worse than our defence.
There's little point in discussing the why's and what fors of each game now. Taking the season to date as a whole and were just not good enough. Yeah, we could have had a penalty, but by then we'd already played our trademark 'jokers'. - error for the first goal, and not picking up the runner prior to the penalty for the second.
Sorry, disagree there - two blatant penalties missed by the ref, which would have changed the balance of the game totally.
I don’t know why people keep raising this. We just don’t get penalties. If those two incidents had been the other way round, Stoke would have been given and ours wouldn’t.
One of the most nailed on penalties you’ll ever see. And as bad as we were, we had momentum at that point and not getting a rightful spot kick killed us. I’d be ashamed of myself if I was Jeremy Simpson. Totally failed at his job.
I don't agree with this. At that point Stoke were all over the place and an equaliser would, in my opinion, have seen them revert to type from this season. The confidence was visibly seeping from them with every attack we made. Saying that, we didn't deserve anything from today overall. Simply not good enough.
Odd isn’t it. In all our games at home no pens for us. Yet away teams have had 3 now. Bet that’s a statistic not repeated for many other teams. I’m sure they will even themselves out soon though.
