I hope no BBSers have been too affected by the floods.

Not sure if anywhere in Barnsley has been hit, though living in Scawthorpe, Donny, I’m in amongst the most affected areas. Thankfully my house is on slightly higher ground so we have been lucky. Further into Scawthorpe (including where a certain Mr Mowatt lives, or his mam anyway) has been less fortunate.

The roads all seem roundly ok so I’ll be there today.

The street I grew up in Scawthorpe has houses flooded, as does the street in Bentley I lived in for 6 months as a newlywed in the 80’s.

awful for them, all were flooded in 2007 too.

Just hope we don’t flood the pitch at half-time just to bring a sub on

Young uns cup match at Scawthorpe was called off Thursday so I assume it must be really bad there. Hopefully there'll be no more heavy rain for a while. Scary how many of those flooded and interviewed on the radio dont have insurance.

We'll still have sprinklers on before the match and at half time.

Live in Sprotbrough, so barring down by boat Inn and a bit near Anchorage lane junction, we've been lucky,

Low Valley and bottom end of Wombwell were hit bad. Station Road was the worst of it

My daughter was in London for meetings for 2 nights having parked her car at Mexborough Station. Just been to collect it (she had to return from London via a different route) and it had obviously been under about 3 feet of water as it is covered up to the windscreen in mud. Obviously it won't start and the £200 child seat im the back is ruined as well. To make matters worse she tried to phone the number the insurers provided should she be stranded roadside due to an accident etc. only to get an answerphone message saying the office is closed until Monday morning 9am!!! She has to submit an online claim in the meantime.
