Might sound obvious but I hope we have a real go today. Start with intensity and get the crowd behind the team - bit like Fulham first game. Am I asking too much?
To be honest, I think they've done that most games or at least tried to. Our achilles heel has been running out of steam second half and buckling under any sort of pressure.
If we go a goal up early i cant see us losing. But we could have the situation where both sets of fans are singing sack the board and you don't know what you're doing. Either way it shouldn't be a boring match. COYR!
Michael O'Neil is expected to double his £750,000 salary by taking the Stoke job and has been promised significant funding resource in January. How can a club like ours possibly compete with that sort of money?
From what I’ve seen of them, they look to be a very physical team with the guille and experience to apply it subtly (if that makes sense) I hope our youth and exuberance will overcome that. Unfortunately I fear the ref will have a bigger than usual role to play today and judging from what I’ve seen this season that doesn’t bode well for us. I suppose this seems a bit hypocritical considering our disciplinary record so far this season. Alternatively this could be all ****** and we could run out comfortably winners, here’s hoping
FFP kicks in for them next year doesn't it? They ll be looking to stay up and showcase some players so they can trim their wage bill next season.
Winning comfortably is going to be a rarity this season but I do have a feeling we'll win today. Can't rationalise it - just feel a change in luck is due along with some reward for hard graft.
