    So as not to be seen as a perpetual joke, it's about time the FA took a similar stance against
    those owners who flaunt the rules in an attempt to get to the " promised land."

    Never gonna happen these Clubs are policing themselves .
    Untill a proper accountable board of owners, players and fans etc with meaningful influence and jurisdiction it’ll be always the same unfortunately.

    The RFU also look after the grass roots of the game, wrt coaching. The RFU will centrally pay qualified coaches to coach at grass roots level.

    I just saw this on LinkedIn, where I commented:
    "Off topic a bit with this rant, but ... That's a hefty fine, when you compare it to the measly fines dished out in football by FIFA, UEFA, FA, etc. The big clubs totally ignore the rules and then get fined £25,000, when the clubs are paying individual players £300,000 per week. Fines need to be realistic and reflect the money in the game, and if the football authorities were serious, then they would be more liberal with dishing out points deductions. Let's see how this pans out in the rugby world."

    They are a joke pal. Only when.(can’t see it ever happening) one of the supposed bigger clubs receive proper punishment will others take note. Birmingham’s point deduction last season was ludicrous. Laughable if not so serious. Should have deducted the same amount this season if they want to be taken seriously. Pathetic doesn’t even cover it.
    Personally would relegate any club for breaches of conduct.

    There is no real intent in the FA to change things. It is a lot to do with economics. If the big clubs keep profiting from the status quo, nothing will change. Any sort of level playing field is pie in the Sky.

    There is a big difference between the RU Premier League and theFA Premier League:

    Football has to stay in sinque with other European leagues and beyond. There is not the volume of similar leagues with rugby. ThE FA cannot go oUt on a limb in terms of FFP or the players wouls go to play in another league. There is not the array of options for the rugby players.

    The total volume of money is much lower. That said, And old college fiend of mine who was Finance director with Northampton Saints was complaining of non-compliance with salary caps by some clubs in e
    The Rugby Premier League so they have a similar problem to football on a smaller scale.

    In general discipline is much tighter all round in rugby compared to football. This is both on the pitch and off it. Wouldn't it be great if footballersrespected decisions of offIcials like their rugby counterparts?

    Rugby Union isn’t perfect by any means, but there’s a lot football can learn from it.

    However, I for one am glad the local rugby club disgraced themselves by choosing to play on Good Friday in 1887......
