Right at the beginning he takes it out and is stood in front of son with it waiting to wave it. Ok he never waves it in the air but the intention is quite clear, he's got it out in front of him and only son turning away in worry for Gomez is what stopped him giving it the grand wave he was dying to do.
For me Thomas was worse as it was blatant he made no attempt at the ball at least Son could argue he just mis timed it.
Not saying it wasn’t deliberate Helen, I’m saying she could argue that if he wanted to but there is no way Thomas could
He was miles from the ball. Tbh he's getting more coverage and sympathy than Gomez and he's the poor sod who's out the game for the foreseeable future!
Totally different because Thomas was going for the ball not the player. Son (a player I really like) purposely and blatantly took out the player as he knew he had no chance of getting the ball.
FA have overturned the decision taken by the Ref to give Son a red card for the challenge on Everton's Gomez. Also the good news is that the latter has been discharged from hospital and specialists have confirmed that he will make a full recovery.
As I understand it, he will be given a full rehabilitation programme with the aim of playing again. Even though they say he will make a full recovery I suppose at this stage, it's difficult to say whether he will play the game again. I suppose it's down to how is ankle stands up to training, kicking, running and more importantly tackling.
Everton boss Marco Silva is saying that he has been given to understand, that Andre Gomez who was injured against Spurs at the weekend could play again this season, although they are unable to put a time on his exactl come back game. That's great news especially for the lad who must have thought his career could well have been over.
Reports from Goodison Park, are that Andre Gomez is taking part in a behind closed doors practice game next week , 103 days after his career threatening injury against Spurs. If he comes through that unscathed, he could be in line for inclusion in Everton's squad away to Arsenal on the 23 rd February. That really is great news particularly as there were doubts initially whether or not he would ever play again.
I wouldn't play him in the Everton V Everton game. It could be a bit tasty with it being the closest local derby you're ever likely to see.
