But will story agen ha. Next weekend match as for once dropped on for some of us. Been moved to the Friday night. We won’t miss it now. I’ve mentioned a few times about the boys from Dundalk that come over and give their support to the reds. Well it’s our turn to go over to give them our support. They have already won the league and league cup. They play in their FA cup final on Sunday going for the treble. A few of us flying out 6.30am sat morning, rest of boys coming over later on that evening. I love going there as most of the town has been told about us ‘Barnsley boys’ and when we are there we really do get tret like royalty. When we went earlier this year for a league game, (their league games played Friday nights) we was there for 8.30am and a few of lads were there waiting. 1 bloke that owns a coffee shop said to them ‘when the Barnsley boys get here bring them in and they can have what ever they want for free’ (this coffee shop sells all alcohol you can think of) so 1 of lads, (francie) took us in. Told owner ‘I’ve the Barnsley boys here’ the owner then stopped serving, opened his back door, said to us ‘brilliant to see you boys, go sit in back, what do you want to drink?’ He gave us bottles of lager and wine all for free!! Was brilliant. No pubs open at that time but we could get FREE booze from a coffee shop! They really do look after us when we’re over. Dundalk v Shamrock rovers is FAI cup final. 3rd Nov. Hope some of you can get a link to watch it. Football is actually better than you think.
Cheers pal. I really want to get word out round oakwell! People may have already seen the big ‘Barnsley Dundalk flag’ we have had done? But they really do love our club. And we really do get treat like royalty when we’re there. Hopefully more of us can treat these boys that spend their money flying over to support us with the respect they give us, and also they will welcome any single one of you over to watch them with open arms and respect
That's great. I have a soft spot for Dundalk FC. I used to visit the town a lot back in the 90's when we had a major HQ and factory there. Great people.
