Is royally ****** if we struggle in L1 and I've seen nothing to suggest that this current side would do anything other than that The owners may well be happy with us being a yo yo club between L1 and the championship but there are no guarantees and if we do struggle at the level below they ain't gonna get decent money for any player.
League one isnt as easy as some people like to think to get out of, ask sunderland with a budget that dwarfs ours. I thought the squad that got relegated last time would do well in league one I dont think this one will.
Depends who we still have in the summer ready for the new season. Woodrow Mowatt Dimi Thiam Mcgeehan Dougall Pinilos Radliger Barhe B williams Would be surprised if any of them was wearing a barnsley top this time next year.
I think the fans need to sleep on things arrange a get together and formulate a plan to oust the charlatans in charge of our club before we become a Notts County or Leyton Orient style basket case.
Woodrow-sold be interest from clubs Mowatt- same Dimi- last year of contract he is better than league one Thiam- last year of contract not worked for him here he will be gone Mcgheehan- could be here Dougall-same as cam Pinnilos- gone Radliger- 1 year deal he will be gone Bahre- stendel signing wouldnt be surprised if he went back to germany Ben Williams-young talent will attract interest soon. That's how I see it some I will be right on others wrong no doubt.
Apologies if I've missed it, but why has no one asked the club to explain their comments about the best transfer window in the club's history?
My young un has just gone through the posters on his wall.going sold, gone when we re in league 1. Hes left with Brown and Mcgeehan I think!
With the important difference that PC put his own money into the club in order to balance things out. Granted that this was probably applied to loan fees, and was therefore short-term, but it is an important difference.
I still don't get why they bought us if it's just for the small change of transfer fees. How many on here if they were a billionaire would buy a business on a different content that you've no previous interest in? Absolutely no point wasting your time doing that, so I don't know why these are doing it.
You make the assumption that they are billionaires. Aside from the Parekh family (and its the son involved, not the father who was the creator of that wealth), i've not seen, or anyone has seen where billions could be amassed from. I initially thought it was Chien Lee who had all the wealth from 7 Days Inn. But its been stated in numerous places that he was an "early investor". Its owners that generate the wealth. Unless you're investing in lots of things and have a wide portfolio, but when looking at past history, the portfolios seem to have ceased or been moderate. I very much doubt either Conway or Lee would comment if asked, so its all down to personal view on the very limited information out there. My view is they will claw back the purchase cost through dividends and "management charges" each year and if they can get their hands on Oakwell, they'll be gone in 4 years having sold the club for circa £25-£30m if they can retain championship level. I don't believe they want to drop and then be promoted. Its a high risk low reward strategy and if they can't get back up, they wont get ROI on their nominal distressed purchase price. It would take a special kind of moron to state the club had conducted the best transfer business in our history, sack arguably the most popular honest manager/head coach we've ever had, off the back of our highest points total ever if they had the intention of purposefully getting relegated again.
So the question is what evidence did this group of people show Patrick to make him think they were good enough to take over our beloved club? If they are skint but made themselves out to be rich then he's been hoodwinked.
I think they’ve seen the success we had last season in league one and how that bolstered the sale value of our players, and they’ve got one eye on repeating the same formula. Imagine we go down, sell Woodrow, Mowatt (best assets) and Dougall (last year of contract) and in their place Styles, Sibbick and Chaplin all have great seasons. We get promoted and they are now the best assets to sell, in come the offers out go the players and the potential gets fetched back into the squad via lower league transfers. Rinse and repeat forever and ever.
