Played piggies 42 times in last 40 years as equals remind him. Oh forgot can't have cos they're sooooooo much more massive than we are. Little owd Barnsley. . PS last time Oldham played man ure 1990. Deluded or what.[/QUOTE]
Its just his opinion mate, does it really count for ought, silly foooookin southerners, they know nowt.
Much as I’d love to go along with the narrative as there’s plenty of deluded massives fans, that’s not true. Oldham were a premier league side in the early mid nineties, in fact I’m sure Andy Ritchie scored against Man Utd in that period
Oldham last played Man U in the prem in 1994 so as @troff says the narrative is flawed - in fact they were there for 4 seasons in the 1990's That said they have only played each other in the league in 5 seasons since WW2 - 4 of them in the top tier and once in the second tier In the same period we have played the fouls in the league in 27 seasons mostly in the second tier so the comparison is flawed - I bet we have played the fouls more than most other teams in the last 70 years in the league we both seem to spend most of our time - wheras Oldham had to get to the top tier to play Man U
Mark Hughes scored with a volley int 120th min of a FA Cup semi final to gain Man Utd a replay against Oldham, Oldham seconds away from the final lost the replay 4-1. Memories
TBF troff I looked it up saw 1994 and put 1990 on the thread. Short memory of 1 second. Point I was trying to make was if Oldham played Man Utd now it’d be David n Goliath. We have been wendies equals for lots of the last 40 years. Hardly a comparison he could make. Yes it’s a Derby game for us. ( although they don’t like to say as much from their point of view. And to agree we’re not Sheff Utd.) But they have got this strange attitude it’s our cup final. As the original post appears to infer. As to the deluded part it was referring to the bloke in the post. Not all are. My best mate at work is a Wendy and he’s not deluded. A simpleton maybe but not deluded. Says they were crap other night. OUCH. Dint realise he was at back of me
