Can remember Tom Kennedy was the 'quarterback', who was his 'handbrake'??? Think it was an older loanee......
Greening, Buzsaky, Sinclair and Tudgay were all loaned in.... they should have been nicknamed the noose, rather than anything else as that was their sole purpose.
He hardly played. Supposedly pacey forward. Maybe 1 start and 2 or 3 more cameo appearances from the bench. I want to say he had a fall out at P'boro ut not 100% sure about that
Like a sad man I've just read a few pages of the bbs archive from the month of November 2012 (page 1993 to 1998 for those interested) and these signings were practically welcomed with open arms. While there I checked March 2014 out too and boy, that was a bad period judged by the posts on the bbs. Wilson, Mansford, the ageing players, everyone was getting it. Cyclical.
We've had some shockingly bad phases. And when we've had a good phase we've cashed in (well... below true value) and destroyed all progress. Whats often been the issue for me is the absolutism of strategy. More loans than we can play. Signing too many players for a position (the cult of having 8 number 10's... then signing another!). All lower league players. All old experienced heads. All young loans. Now we're in the realm of the foetus. we're going to have ups and downs, that's football. But to perpetuate the downs from ups, frankly... its bloody stupid.
