Quite probably but just in case, the question I asked myself when deciding my allegiance for this game was this: If England beat the All Blacks (unlikely) and then somehow contrive to lose in the final who would I rather lose to? As I said, Allez Les Bleus!!!

How can a Quarter Final be a "Pointless wooden spoon game"? There's everything to play for.

Well that was stupid. There can be no arguments about that red card. Espèce d’enculé!

Hope Wales go on and win it now after that ridiculous elbow. Deserved red card.

Typical French behaviour for the red card. Always been known as dirty ********.

I think the point was being made that the winner would be England or New Zealand.

it’s a little unfair to discount wales or South Africa but it wouldn’t be surprising

He made up for his silly sin bin with that late try. Wales made very hard work of it to have an extra man for half an hour. It was a great game and a shame the ground had so many empty seats.

They weren't empty at the start. Loads of Japanese fans left early to catch their up and coming game.

Got up late.. so when I turned it on, the French were running riot.
So I decided to watch the next game in full and took the mutt out.. so missed it
    Well done the Taffs

When Wales had won they still had just over an hour to find somewhere with a TV showing it.

As for the game I think it played in to the French hands not having to play us. They looked a lot fresher than Wales from having the benefit of playing a game less.

Apparently its horrendous getting away from that Stadium. Its known as Japan's Oakwell. You're right about France who would have won but for that daft red card.

The commentators mentioned that it can take 2 hours or more to get away from the stadium. Sounds even worse than Oakwell. It 'only' took me until 6.15pm yesterday to get out of the car park.

Because it’s an inconsequential sideshow. The winner will come from the England v New Zealand game next weekend.

    Bizarre post!
Do you not understand that the last 8 teams play in the 4 quarter-final matches so that 4 teams go forward to the 2 semi-finals and the winning two teams play in the final?
Do you know what 'inconsequential' means?
