Faced with the same **** shower he went defensive, and we were still outside the drop zone when he left. "Leeds want to talk to me". "Sign this new contract with a 500k release clause and we'll let them speak to you." (Thinks: "What have I got to lose?").

Heckingbottom did a great job keeping us out of the bottom 3 given the hand he was dealt. Daniel, this far, is emphasising exactly how well Heckingbottom did.

I don't like the fact that he went to Leeds, but I can't argue with you.

And, as @TonyTyke pointed out to me, the owners have changed but the plan has not.

So if I find I have to reappraise Hecky, so too must I reappraise Flicker and even (spit!) Hill. They sold Butterfield from under him, didn't get Drinkwater, and the downward spiral began...

"On 19 December 2017, it was announced that Patrick Cryne and family, had agreed to sell an 80% stake in Barnsley Football Club to a consortium led by Chien Lee of NewCity Capital and Pacific Media Group, which is led by Paul Conway and Grace Hung."

"Heckingbottom signed a new rolling contract at Barnsley on 2 February 2018,[31] but he would leave the club days later to take a similar position with Leeds United. "

And don't think things weren't being influenced by the new owners' preferences before December 2017.

The squad stendel has is very poor compared to the one hecky had. Hecky had loanees like joe William's,gary gardner, harvey barnes stendel cant have any loanees because we wont make money on them. Yiadom is about 30 times a better full back than anyone we have bar cavare who was also here then. Jason McCarthy was poor that season but don't get me started on jordan William's. Hecky had lindsay jackson and pinnock (even though he didnt give pinnock a chance until December) adam jackson would get in our back 4 and I'm not kidding mowatt was here and loaned out. I could go on but the point is this side is far far worse than the one hecky had.

I like hecky he seems like a nice bloke his football was like pulling teeth after conor left that january. He took ove one of the most expensive teams in the league in leeds on the brink of the play offs and put them into relegation form now the hibs fans want him gone....

Defensively we were stronger. Offensively relying on Bradshaw and Ugbo probably weaker. Mowatt didn’t play because he was well off form and not good enough. Now playing at his maximum he is still barely good enough. Pinnock was injured when fully fit he was selected.

Hecky will always be hated just like winnall is for the club he choose to leave us for. It was time for a change when hecky left but how he left disappointed alot of the happy clappers. I think stendal will walk before Christmas if the results carry on as they are......

Yeah sorry pal read it wrong. I don't think there's much in it offensively we lose woodrow to injury which we already have this season were ******.

Agree there Daniel has been left in the same boat with just one main striker. Woodrow is a definite upgrade on Bradshaw though god knows if Schmidt is an improvement on Ugbo

God knows stendel cant rate him or he would be in the team. I wasnt joe William's biggest fan but in terms of been in midfield covering the defence and breaking up play he is/was miles ahead of anything we have in this squad.

If Dougall comes back strongly he might offer a better option than Williams though I might just be clutching at straws.

You'd rather have Hecky than Stendel?
Can't get my head around that one.
