I believe GR he has some source close to the club because he has been itk for years. Like you said he has gone to a club playing in the champions league so he cant be all that bad, I also believe what GR says when he said we signed a 6 or 7th choice in schmidt and that he isnt upto the standard and isnt fit enough because if he was he would have been in the starting 11 when woodrow was injured, some weeks he hasn't even made the bench. So we replaced our top scorer with a player not ready to start games. I'd call it the most naive transfer window in history.
Appreciate the post mate. Just to clarify, it's my belief that he was way down the list of targets. Thays not something I've been told but I'm convinced it was a case of "were ****** here, weve gotta do something, we'll have to go with Schmit"
could it have been he was a target for development squad all along and with us missing out on first team targets by default he was drafted into first team?
We left it way too late to sell kieffer for me pretty sure they was something like 4 working days of the transfer window left when he went, we didnt have a replacement lined up and we ended up with schmidt.
In fairness redrum Schmidt said the club were talking to him since May.That says to me he was a target.Maybe not first choice but a target. So we go onto January with what we've got.Another striker would have been ideal but lets hope our recent performances will bring the goals from the current squad. If Wilkes would have squared the ball to Schmidt on Saturday he could have broke his duck then who knows.
I'd say the truth is somewhere between the two of the rival posts. It clearly, in the short run wasn't the best transfer window. We have brought in some very promising young players. As it stands at the moment we haven't enough quality in the final third. We are not too far away from turning it around, but I do think many of us calling for some experience, (including our manager), were right, as we might have been 4-6 points better off at this point, with a better chance of staying up. We do now have a bit of a mountain to climb. A lot of our players are finding their feet, but there are a lot of big spenders in this division & at the moment we have a lot to prove. We have a great manager & at home we could turn it around, but we need some goals & wins. A bit of luck and and a decent referee is too much to hope for.
I am not interested in the often spurious gossip that quite a few insist on sharing on bulletin boards. If people need some kind of affirmation from strangers online then good for them. But it’s not for me.
I think the player and agents have all the power of when a deal goes through these days, it was probably 4 days before the window closed that his agent went touting him to Wigan.
I just finished the huge task of comparing every one of this season's Championship team's accounts for season 2017/18 season. Of course, many of those teams were not in the Championship for that season, so next to their name is the division they were playing in then. I had actually planned it as a Minority Report topic, but I guess it will serve as a taster. Clubs are not required to list player wages separately, so the figures listed cover all staff. However, as we know, player wages will cover the majority. Well it looked just about presentable before I pressed Post Reply and now it is unreadable. Can anyone help? How can I post tables originally set up in Word. In fact, how can I post stuff formatted with spaces, and expect the spaces to be retained after I press post reply?
