If it’s relevant to the conversation why not..... If you sit in the stand. You do so by choice and there’s many reasons to. Plenty of folk do. If the stand was that bad, it’d be empty (North Side only empty due to capacity requirements). You don’t sit in that stand, and that’s fine.
It's a fvcking shíthole. Knock it down and make something fit for the 20th century, because the West Stand is 19th-century accommodation. I don't want to look at it. Spare my eyes.
Exactly. And it’s nice and Cosey in winter and allows you an extra 10mins in Pub as it a shorter walk from town.
It's a disgrace but all the problems is has are very fixable. More female toilets, shift the food outlet to the centre of the stand & move press facilities to East Stand.
But, we’ve just built a new media centre at top side of West Stand. Well, at least got the footings in last season. Have we moved into it yet? Toilets need doing for sure.
The West will be there forever unless we get promoted to the top league where regs suggest it will have to be pulled down. Is what I was told by someone at the club. So in essence it's there forever.
I simply don’t understand the dogmatic resentment to progress that often propagates through our town.
Think you’ve misunderstood here. I said the stand and food outlet are fine, but the toilets are not. At no point did I say I wouldn’t welcome a replica of the East Stand to revolve it - but that’s a completely different topic and not going to happen anytime soon.......
The food outlet is woefully inadequate. To the point where people cannot buy a drink of water at half time. Yes, I spent many a game in there last season. The stand is uncovered and uncomfortable.
Upper only for me. Covered and no cold wind in your face in November (unlike the East Upper). Food outlet is entirely dependent on staff quality/numbers, stock, and not the outlet itself - that applies to every stand though in my experience.
Pull the bloody thing down. The old Wembley stadium was iconic but was of a different age, built in 1923 and was desperately out dated when it finally went. The same can be said for the West Stand. Built around the same time, it is now about 100 years old and the facilities are simply not fit for purpose. Its 2019 for christ's sake, and one side of our stadium uses seats bolted to 100 year old terraces and bogs that amount to a brick wall with a gutter. With half of it not able to be used. Frankly it's an embarrassment.
One century at a time, eh? Before we get to 21st century inventions (those airblade things) not urinating against a wall like the Victorians would be a good place to start.
just looked on e-bay there's a Golden Toilet for sale - bids in excess of £15,000,000 - just what's needed to upgrade the West Stand 'facilities!'
