Posted this after first half on the
    B. F. L page after 1st half
Good game so far.. Barnsley giving as good as they are getting.that said... Leeds are pleasant to the eye and for me you can see the difference in class.. You can tell thelr experience is showing...hope it doesn't show in second half.. The way they pick the pass movement off the ball steady away where our game plan seems to be kick and rush and crowd... Yes we are playing the ball but not as smooth as Leeds.. .. I Think Leeds will up their game in the second half too.... Be surprised if they don't... Hope our lads are up to it... And hang on... Like everyone else I'd like to see a barnsley win.. But head tells me no... Hope I'm wrong... Think class/experience will tell in the end.. Enjoy second half guys

    End of game
At the end of the day the quality of Leeds shone through.. The lads tried their best unfortunately and no disrespect to the lads their best isn't good enough for this league.. Nor should any blame be placed on the gaffers head.. Hard to take but the owners have sold us short... Not a knee jerk reaction might I add.. Just my opinion of what I've just seen... Onwards together.. Its going to be a very long season I'm afraid.. Enjoy your week the best you can guys..

Further to the post before it gets jumped on and I become the target of abuse... I believe there were some positives to take from the game and we shouldn't be too downhearted performance wise with the result.. We gave 100% in effort to a man and that's all that can be asked and expected... Unfortunately as I've stated already we aren't ready for this league.... No one to blame but the owners for our plight .. Enjoy your week guys the best you can

    Disagree tbh ,
Imo we competed with the best team in this league and were unlucky not to get a draw .
I think there are four or five teams we could finish in front of .
I don’t think we’ve anything to fear in this league and we’ll get better as the season goes on and hopefully sort our goal scoring or lack of out .

I think it was most shown in the quality of the subs. Bucket Boy got to bring on a full Portugal international and a prolific striker at England Under -21 level who’s destined for a long Premier League career. Stendel had to bring on Fat Ass and Sloth.

Stendel absolutely pencil whipped Bucket Boy by the way for us to be even in that game with ten minutes to go.

The last 2 games make me feel we are improving .Dissapointing result but a very decent performance against the best team in the league.I disagree Shed about the owners selling us short. They've explained the strategy and experience players pricing us out of signing them.I'd rather support this bunch of very talented players than sign over the hill players who treat us as a final pay day.Onwards and upwards to Forest next week.

I agree, although it would be lovely to sign a proven goal scorer at zillions of quids, the fact is, we aren’t going to. In reality, you are bang right, the performances have improved and in my opinion, much quicker than could be reasonably expected

Not disagreeing about competing because we did our best in all areas and that's all you can ask.. but I feel we lack not only experience but that extra quality you need to survive in this league.. Ive no doubt that we have some gifted players and hopefully there's 4 or 5 teams worse than us.... unfortunately in the cold light of day we will struggle to gain results in our favor based on quality or graft... as I've stated I don't think the team are ready just yet... Yes I get the old argument you need to play to gain experience gel and then deliver an award winning performance unfortunately we aren't in a dress rehearsal this league is unforgiving hence I continuously berate the owners for their recruitment stance.. Plus the moment they show promise we will get shut. ( another debate for another day no doubt lol) but for me today it showed the gulf in class between the two clubs player wise, their experience to play the game plan they stuck to which shone and showed through in the end . Yes it was a good game but overall we played second fiddle which the result showed..
However you have to congratulate our lads who tried their hardest.

I think we played pretty well. You can argue which keeper’s the best, you can argue Ben Williams at left back & Diaby at centre back but that wasn’t far off our best side & I cant fault the effort or organisation.

The main difference is the quality in the final third. On the balance of play it felt pretty even but ultimately they deserved to win because they created the clear cut chances.

It really does remind me of the first half of the season the last time we were in the championship where I used to come away from games & found it hard to pick fault with what we were doing it was just that the other side had a bit more quality than us in the final third. It’s often easier to accept losing when there’s an obvious scapegoat like one bad player or a referee, it’s hard to just accept other sides are a bit better than us.

To me today’s front 4 is clearly our best one. I like Bahre on his day but his days 1 every 4 or 5 games, Thiam’s capable of the odd moment of quality but he’s a passenger the rest of the time so I’d try & persist with Woodrow, Brown, Wilks & Thomas.

Sibbick’s earned the shirt alongside Mowatt at least until Dougall’s fit.

I was a bit unsure about Jordan Williams at left back until Pinillos came on & then I realised he’d done a decent job in containing Hernandez & Dallas down that side as Pinillos was getting dragged all over the place.

Halme was my man of the match until the penalty, I felt a bit sorry for him but at least he’s put back to back decent showings in after a dreadful start against Carlisle.

Even though we lost I’ve come away feeling a lot more optimistic than I did after leaving the Luton game. At least we troubled Leeds a bit & had a bit of presence up top & at least for the most part Leeds’ chances came from their good play where as in other games it’s felt like the chances have come from our own mistakes.

Some individuals played well today ,namely Collins, Anderson,Halme,Sibbick; Mowatt tried hard and Thomas was better in the second half, Brown created chances for absent strikers. The Full backs were terrible, Wilks and Woodrow can't play together.
Thiam should never play for Barnsley again,he's a unfit sportsman, if it's true we turned down a £1m offer last season, then that person should explain why. The manager continues to get tactics and selection wrong. He is hindered by having the weakest squad in the division.

I think it’s a bit harsh on the full backs, especially Williams who was up against arguably the best player in the league. Cavare was sloppy in possession compared to normal but he did make some very good interceptions at full stretch.

What did you think he got wrong in terms of selection?

The only two I can think of an argument for were to start a natural left back in Pinillos at left back but he was worse than Williams & couldn’t live with Hernandez’s pace after coming on fresh against a supposedly tired player & also the other I’m presuming would be to suggest Chaplin coming on as sub instead of Thiam? But then that means moving Wilks side who was our biggest goal threat today.

We’re massively hindered in not having a striker who can win headers or play with his back to goal.
