Let's leave this till tomorrow. If we are down to even less than bare bones and he isnt in the team or even bench, then yes I think questions should be legitimately be asked. I think he should have been in, but maybe different chances with different players COULD have been an influence. Tomorrow according to injuries should be different
The irritating part is the political spin behind the situation now. It's obvious something has happened and he's not going to be picked, but Stendel and Tonge have both danced around it when questioned this week, presumably on club instructions. Supporters rightfully questioning why he's not playing and being fed ******** currently.
Why should the club tell you exactly why he isn't playing? Assuming you don't believe the response from Stendel that he trusts others players more, then what more info do you want? How does that benefit anyone? He wasn't in the team the end of this season and a player who Stendel rates very, very highly is playing in his place right now. Yes he played at left back (and played well by the way - I'm a Cavare fan) but at right back he isn't being chosen. Loads of teams keep things behind closed doors. If something has gone off, it's better to resolve that away from the public eye. In my opinion anyway.
Like I have said before I am a stendal fan but if this is right or whatever has gone off Daniel is not the man I thought he was, putting his own feelings before the team. Dimitar has been dropped for several games now and to me that is punishment over let's have him back in the team and start climbing the league
He played out of position on the opening day, and was outstanding. He was also picked in the League One team of the season, despite being mysteriously dropped at the end of last season too (and rumoured to have played his last game then, prior to us extending his contract). Since then he's disappeared from the squad and the explanation offered is 'vague' at best. So, in short, I don't believe the response from Stendel, but I don't believe that the lack of a straight answer on this is entirely down to him. On form alone, his total disappearance from the squad isn't remotely justified. It's reminiscent of the ongoing saga with Davey and Kim Christensen, except for the fact that Cavare has had a playing career with us, rather than being a mystery man. If we're supposed to accept the fact he's persona non grata at the club then I'd like to have some sort of indication why. I can well believe it could be a disciplinary issue, given his antics vs Fulham a couple of seasons ago, but no one within the club is currently suggesting that, and it's the only potential explanation that makes any sense in the circumstances. Pretending otherwise feels like we're being played for fools.
I cant see why he'd be watching at Oakwell and at yesterdays event if hes been disciplined and is never going to pjay for us again? And if we don't want him I'm sure the likes of Sunderland would want to snap him.up. Very confusing?
