It's a odd one this.. Hull City: EFL apologises to fan who claimed he was asked to stop texting during game - http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/49312316
I read the tweet(s) on this earlier. A lot of what is posted on social media needs to be taken with a pinch of salt, but the guy appeared genuine.
I’m guessing any steward asking one of the home fans at Oakwell who they are texting will get a response along the words of ‘f**k off nosey’ And so they should.
In today's paper the Steward apparently told the guy it's because there's been trouble with people notifying betting companies at a match, so they can cash out. A Club spokeswoman added " we carry out spot checks with regards to the unauthorised gathering of data at matches. Comsec are hired by Football Data Company to monitor the collection and distribution of official data." An FSA spokesperson said " the way this has been handled doesn't seem especially professional." In my view, it's absolutely ridiculous.
I don't understand this argument - when making a bet live, or trying to cashout, you have to wait about 15 seconds don't you? This wouldn't give anyone time do it, not to mention to send a text and have someone else bet/cashout.
