Good point though AFC Wimbledon is a slightly different case - their club was just stolen rather than being run into the ground. There does reach a point though that keeping something going when its clearly not viable is just making a bad situation worse. I guess the only problem for Bolton fans if the club does fold is who will start the Phoenix club Who started AFC Barnsley as our insurance club in case we never survived Admin - was that Patrick Cryne or someone else?
We did yes. But we didn't financially **** ourselves in gaining promotion as Bolton did in saving relegation. If they'd have stayed up instead of us by playing by the rules, then I would have had no problem with any **** waiving- it's football after all. No sympathy.
Taking the piss when they've known all along that they were financially ****** is. We'll have to agree to disagree here, I reckon.
Its not but instead of being a bit embarrased about it they took the p*ss out of us which makes it a bit hard to be too sympathetic. I dont want them to be without a club but if they had to start again a few tiers down the non league they would still have a club to watch That said I think the League will bend over backwards to avoid losing Bolton when they have Bury who are a much smaller and therefor appropriate better club to make an example of
My position all along has been: I will take pleasure in Bolton fans losing their club, because they took pleasure in their club relegating us by cheating. People always say: ooh, it's terrible for the supporters. Well, those same supporters had umpteen years in the top division, played in Europe and got to a cup final. If Bolton cease to exist, that same fanbase can suck it up. I'll enjoy their tears, misery and pain. Jelly and ice-cream when Bolton die!
It's gone very quiet about any further points deduction for Bolton for not fulfilling their match against Brentford last season, that was awarded 1-0 to Brentford. Surely that's another 3 points as happened to Middlesboro in recent years. Or they just gonna conveniently forget about that one. They can hardly hit Bury for 6 more this season if they do.
Maybe it is just me but i don't buy into the view that a team's entire support thinks and behaves in a certain way, therefore it is harsh and a bit daft. You only have to read this forum to see the polar opposite opinions. Every other club will be no different.
Exactly. They're quietly hoping no one notices. Three points should have been deducted at the start of the season. You have to suspect that there's something fishy going on in their dealings with Bolton.
I fail to see how if the situation for Bury is the same as Bolton and Bury were treated differently, legal action from Bury against the footballing authority would not follow.
Churton, The Rangers, to give them their proper name are officially the least successful team in Glasgow.
