    Wouldn’t have any back in the matchday squad for us now. Maybe Joe Williams at a push if we don’t end up signing another defensive mid

    I can’t see it happening to be fair - he’d be too dear wages wise.

    However, I don’t think age would be the issue - Stendel intimated he needed more experience. Maybe that would be his requested signing. We know from Aidy White & Adam Hammill a few years ago, 2 experienced signings can bring a lot to the team if they come with the right focus and mindset I.e. not one last Payday.

    Morsy was a great player. Williams was an enthusiastic young player who deserves credit for his efforts but I didn't really rate him. But that doesn't mean he hasn't improved.

    Defensively Williams cleared more corners than our two centrebacks. Obviously if Wigan are paying £1 million for him they rate more than you.
