Can remember him tearing us a new one playing for Burton at the start of the season we went up wi hecky. I mentioned his name every transfer window after that but he ended up at united in a lower division. No chance now like.

Hang on, that can't be right. Somebody one here said Wilder was waiting till after our friendly to decide his retained list.

Todays Mirror says the player has asked for a new contract at Sheff U to reflect prem money. Wilder says Duffy signed a contract 18 months ago for prem money and will not be told by either the player or the players agent about new contracts.
Wilder has told to Duffy to find himself anther club.
Why do I find this story so refreshing, and why don't I feel like this more often???

Good on him. No idea what Duffy is playing at - 33 years old, unlikely to be good enough for the premiership for more than a season (if at all) and he's asking for an improved deal?!

I don't like Sheff United but I can't find a bad thing to say about Wilder.

If you do well at work I think you're entitled to ask the question. Especially if your last pay rise was 18 months ago. Seems a bit harsh if what is reported is corrected. Probably a lot more to it than that though.

I agree he is entitled to ask. The club are equally entitled to say no and also explain where he fits in their team

Good on Wilder for the way he handled the situation. It's just a shame that all clubs didn't do the same to control the spiralling wages that are being commanded and given. Trouble is, there will be one of the Championship clubs that are gambling everything on getting to the Premier League gravy train that will happily give him the wages he feels he deserves...

According to the report he told Wilder he wanted to explore his options after being told no.
Gut instinct tells me he’ll be back

I reckon I could sprint 40m relatively quickly, albeit nowhere near those kinds of times... if I had to run more than 1k I'd be blowing out of my arse though.
