You could look at Aldershot FC (who left the league in March 1992) or Maidstone (who left before the start of the 92/93 season) for previous examples. The net result of these two was a reduction in the top four divisions from 94 to 92 teams.

The results of Aldershot for the 91/92 season were expunged (they were bottom in March when they finally went under)
Maidstone were not replaced and the league continued with one less team.

Ironically, Aldershot's last league victory was away at Maidstone...

I was watching sky sports yesterday....and it was pleased to report the club will be saved by new owners etc etc.
I actually want them kicked out...there was mention of the 12 point deduction and only 7 players on the books but NO mention of a points deduction for failure to play 2 games, last season, which if memory serves me, is a fine and/ or a 3 point minus per game.

Not convinced the proposed new owners are the answer either. It looks like a local business man(who is currently owed millions by club) has gone out and found investors to do the deal.
In my experience these type of investors are in it short term and only want a return.

The Bury situation is a complete mess. The previous owner who propped up Flitcroft spent absolute fortunes and remortgaged the ground through a number of separate vehicles. It seems it was so complex, that the owner who took over from him didn't seem to be fully aware how much of a mess it actually was (and it seems h's got it in the neck more than the guy who created the problem in the first place).
