watched quite few of the World Cup game Fi. I have totally enjoyed it too. There has been some very skilful and entertaining football played .
I went to see Man United ladies last season, watched some of the World Cup and have watched some England games in recent years. I'm sure the game is on an upward curve. There's no reason that women can't play at a high level and some of the passing and movement has been impressive in the World Cup but games have been littered with woefully bad errors and for me there's little there at the moment to get me seriously enthused. But that's just my opinion.
Unfortunately no. I think it’s terrible. Glad that people did enjoy it though and they’ve got some decent coverage out of this World Cup. I wouldn’t mind that American striker tho. Wow I could watch her every week.
Not really. Still a bit slow paced and too many stray passes I think a smaller pitch and goal might help too.
No not me unfortunately. I haven't seen very much at all but what I have seen didn't change my opinion. I don't have an issue with the game in general, I just don't get the same buzz that I get from the mens game. Its still improving but I think it has a long way to go before its anywhere near as good as the mens game.
On a similar subject I watched some of the England v Australia women's ODI ashes match yesterday. I'd say that by comparison the lady footballers have progressed and developed a lot further than the lady cricketers.
I think he means as anyone who as occasionally watched it in the past and thought it was hideous gave it a go and watched the WC and thought " actually it aint too shabby"
I think it's great. It's a different game in some respects, but entertaining & the TV numbers must back this up.
I’ve never really watched it before & to be honest I’ve not paid much attention to it this time round. I saw most of last nights match & saw a bit of England - Norway, Germany - Sweden & France - USA but that’s it. I can’t say I’ve particularly enjoyed it. Although it’s football & it’s an English team I don’t know any of the players & don’t follow women’s football so I don’t have much interest in whether we win or not. It feels like watching a British fencer or shotputter at the Olympics, I hope they win but I’ve no emotional interest in it. Don’t think the quality’s up to much either. I watched AFC Fylde play in a conference play off semi final fairly recently & think that footballs of a better standard
I'm not sure your gender assumption on the op is correct ;-) As for womens football. I've not watched any of the games, just like I don't watch the mens national team. I have seen a few snippets on the news and at times there are aspects of farce which seems a great shame for a sport trying to grow.
I didn't have an opinion prior to the world cup as i had never watched women's football before. I watched 3 games and thought it was technically poor but entertaining. I think the vast majority of professional england male footballers are technically poor too to be fair. I prefer to watch women's cricket. Well played though, disappointing ending.
I watched a few games/parts of games, was entertaining, i would put the world cup teams at no better than League 2, but thats not to say League 2 isnt entertaining.
