No idea wot this thread is abart but I wer born less than a mile from Oakwell so ye ...we all come from Barnsley na na na na
Long story and I'm a bit drunk to reply. But rest assured its better than supporting Chelsea Liverpool man u or City. Real football club.
What I meant was, if you see a Barnsley fan you can be 90/95% sure their from Barnsley unlike all those Liverpool fans. I was inebriated at the time though
Yep Tykester ya rite the vast number of us do come from't Tarn...i'd bin on the Old Peculiar so just loved the random nature of ya thread hahaha.....cheers mate
Cheers lol, only came to see what it wa like with the lads from work 38 years ago but got hooked after that first match. Only live in Featherstone so not that far. Plenty of us Reds but out numbered by Leeds fans but i can give as good as i get lol.
Born in Becketts hospital, started life in Gawber near the New Inn then moved to Smithies. Barnsley through and through
Hmm I'm not from 'Tarn', but when it comes to BFC I don't feel like an outsider. Watching the build up to the Liverpool v Spurs game made me glad I'm a reds fan, and that I support my local team. So many interviews yesterday, so many different accents, and not all British, let alone scouse! I am super proud to support the reds. Anyone that knows me personally will verify that. I know Liverpool fans in my area that travel to Anfield. One was in Madrid yesterday, dunno if he had a ticket. Their bond with their premier league team of choice may be strong in their minds, but I'm sure they'll never feel the highs and lows like we do.
I'm not but I agree fully with the points raised. I don't think the glory fans that attach themselves to premier league teams really feel the emotions that genuine fans feel.
Not that I'm having a pop at anyone who's a Barnsley fan & not from Barnsley, far from it. Your all welcome & we'll welcome you with open arms.
Spot on Tykester...lads who sit near me arnt even from Yorkshire but saw em at Tarn hall for celebration, came a long way to celebrate Reds success and well into it...normally find tho there's some family link or occasion that started people not from Tarn on the journey we were born to
