The pressure was all on the Arabs tonight. To my mind, it's all to play for in the return leg and the pressure has now transferred onto St Mirren. Fair do's, they are now the home team and will be expected to win, but United will be able to go there and play their football and hopefully, they will get the right result. As far as I am concerned, in finishing second, in truth, the Arabs should have been promoted and by finishing where they did after an extremely disappointing season in the Premiership, St Mirren should really have been relegated.!
I said it would not be easy, and it wasn't. Saints were a better side in the second half than they showed in the first. We never showed the determination second half letting them in. So all to play for on Sunday. Won't be a lot in it. Might even go to penalties. Hope we do it. If not then the city derbies are on next season. 12 points for the Arabs .
I went to watch St Mirren earlier in the season when I was working up there. You’ll be fine mate they’re potentially the worst side I’ve ever ever seen live.
Cheers mate. What game did you watch? The west coast media have been backing them recently saying they are a team in form atm. Although I'd say we have been in better form in our league. Sunday will be interesting. Hopefully not heartbreaking.
It was back in November against Motherwell. Motherwell won the game 2-0 (honestly should've been about 5) In fairness to St Mirren the weather was horrendous on the night but they offered absolutely nothing and I got the impression non of the players wanted to be there that night. I mainly only went to see Adam Hammill and I had it confirmed to me why we released him when we did, he was that bad he got dragged after about an hour. That said though they did bring on a player late in the game called Willock (I think) midfield player. He maybe one to look out for if he is still there seemed an handy little player, still puzzled as to why he didn't start the game I might've got my money's worth if he did. I'm hoping they put in the same performance they did the night I saw them for you mate and I'm sure you'll comfortably get over the line.
