    No fa will go lenient on them somewhere along the lines of having already suffered a 12 point deduction we feel that any future points deduction will hurt the club

    My heart bleeds.. Where are those pictures of their stadium going crazy and singing about us going down 2 seasons ago when they should have had the points deduction again?

    Shame they went down really. It would have been handy to just worry about two relegation places. A bit of insurance we hopefully won't need though.

    I doubt that they will see failing to fulfil a fixture as very serious. The book will be thrown.

    Didn’t stop them slapping big deductions on Rotherham or Luton. They can’t possibly allow failing to play to go without a points deduction

    Great idea, that’s way if we are in a relegation battle, we can all apply for a winding up order at different times and guarantee survival.

    I think HMRC are to blame for a lot of it ............ how many clubs have 'faced a huge tax bill'? Why is it allowed to accrue? Surely paying your tax should be done on schedule, as should paying the people who allow you to stage matches in the 1st place; caterers, turnstile staff, programme printers ...... and the list goes on.

    Wow to blame HMRC for this is pushing it a bit - far be it from me to defend them as I think they are pretty awful at dealing with large companies -see Vodafone fiasco etc, but its usually the HMRC that finishes up initiating winding up procedings when clubs dont pay - not sure what else they can do

    When the bill is unpaid take action. HMRC shouldn't just let them get away with it so the next bill and the next bill also doesn't get paid and it ends up a far bigger bill.

    OK, blaming them is a bit strong, but surely there should be some sort of alert / safety net that they can trigger to stop them having to get an eventual bill in the Millions? There are not many clubs able to pay a bill that runs up so high?

    If the owners don’t want to pay what can they do? The alert is HMRC taking them to court, if you get rid of the football creditors rule the spineless FA and EFL would soon be forced to take action

    I'm a small business. I don't have an option not to pay. If I am missing something, please advise. It seems common sense to me that yes, HMRC are generally the ones who trigger the action, but surely in most cases they should have done so sooner.

    Wether they should do something sooner is obviously a moot point, I agree they should but there’s no doubt procedures. What seems to happen is both parties kick the can down the road until it eventually gets to court, then agree a deal. I doubt these clubs ever pay as much as they owe but HMRC definitely work in the principle if something is better than nothing. Again I doubt they’d let you or I away with the same trick
