Lets hope for the sake of the next manager that they're ambitious about getting their hands in their pockets!
Rumour on Talksport a couple of weeks ago saying they were getting shut whether they stopped up or not.. looks like it was true then. Ridicules
2 wins in 2019. 3 wins in I think 23 games, scraping staying up because the top flight has some terrible teams. Not built on staying up last season as no improvement has been seen in the league. In the past he's done fantastic but it's a results business and that form over around two thirds of the season (so it's not a temporary loss of form like Burnley has before they picked up) isn't going to sell them season tickets. He's just taken them as far as he can.
Pulling trigger b4 they have another struggle. Gone backwards this season and played awful football. Fresh approach needed. Not that i care what Brighton do........
I don’t think it is ridiculous. They’re the worst team to watch in the league. They’ve spent plenty on transfers yet he can’t integrate them into the team & plays the players that’s been there years. They were only going to get worse next season. Glenn Murray can’t go on forever & he’s shown no plan B at all.
Not really too surprised i thought he’d get the sack after the Bournemouth game. Newcastle fans will be twitching I’ll bet
Shame for Hughton but I suspect he will be back with a top championship club before Xmas and probably get them promoted. Done a good job for Brighton hopefully his sacking will be as sucessful as Ipswich getting rid of Mick last season as he "had taken them as far as he could" Just as long as they dont come in for Stendel - but I think the risk is quite small
Can’t understand why they couldn’t come up with a mutual compromise package that he leaves on his own back instead of a sacking tbh
If they are I won't be shedding any tears. Hughton is a decent manager. They spent some money, but it takes a number of years to get established in the Premiership. Look at the money Fulham threw at it & see where they finished
As some have said, it seems harsh after he kept them up against the odds, but their recent form has obviously got the Board "twitchy" about their future prospects. Unfortunately, their actions are likely to disrupt another Club, like what Wednesday did to us when they poached Danny Wilson. I've heard that the Brighton board are poised to ask Swansea to speak to Graham Potter, with the prospects of appointing him as Hughtons replacement.
