Normally I would’ve been rooting for them like I did Rotherham last season as I want most Yorkshire teams to succeed but their following is the most deluded I’ve ever known. Funny how they raised their game against us twice but couldn’t when it mattered today. Good riddance if they fail. They were willing us to do the same
7500 home fans in the play offs just shows how far off they are from being equals to the reds and how deluded the orange one is
Well said, never met more snobbish people than in Leeds. 10 bob millionaires everywhere, always looked at me like I’d come from a nuclear wasteland when I told them I lived in Wakefield!!
Well remember being on holiday one year speaking to a retired couple from Donny, she looked like Madge frim Benidorm - white jeans and vest and more gold chains and rings than BA off the A Team. Immediately took the pyss out of Barnsley and our accents. She didn't know I worked in donny when she told us they lived at Outer Bessecar, knowing donny fairly well I knew they lived at bog standard Cantley, Bessecar is where the big houses are, no such place as Outer Bessacar. Ten bob millionaires sums Donny right up, all show, two cars ont drive nowt int fridge. Pyss pot club with a pyss pot stadium and delusional fans.
You're not wrong about Besacarr TTS. That's where Louis Tomlinson from One Direction comes from. Majority of residents really do have a superiority complex. I know a number of folks from Cantley and they are mainly down to earth people like those where I come from. The couple you happened to meet in Benidorm sound to be the exception to that rule. There's nowt wrong with the Barnsley accent, although I have to admit when I first started courting my wife, it took me a while to fully understand what some of her folks were talking about. My wife had some strange sayings. Our little lad once knocked his cup of milk over and she asked me to pass her a cloth. Instead of asking me to hurry up , she said " mek sharp duck". If she ever had a cut on her hand or foot, she would say " its as sore as a bile". Her Dad used to use the same phrase and I asked him what it meant. He said it was a family saying which literally meant " its as sore as a boil."!!!! Her family are all really friendly and would all go out of their way to be of help and the bonus is they are all Reds followers.
Lol. Snobbery from someone from Donny is like a tramp taking the piss out of you for losing your house keys.
I remember as a lad calling on new neighbours who’d just moved in from Kent to ask if their two lads fancied laikin art wit rest o us. Poor lass who answered the door didn't have a clue !!
There are poor areas in Donny - but there’s also far more wealthy areas in Donny than there is in Barnsley.
I hope Donny win I have a soft spot for them but can’t see anyone beating Charlton in the play offs. Other than us and luton they were the best team in L1 last year imo.
You'd be surprised, hexthorpe, Edlington, Wheatley, Balby, Intake and there's quite a few others are up there with the worst of what Barnsley has believe me, you have to go further out to places like Blaxton, Bessacar, Tickhill and Austerfield for the better more affluent areas
