Could do worse that have a quiet word with his mate David Wagner during the summer to pick his brains about the differences in the way teams play. We all know that showing loyalty to the players who get you there doesn't always work. Just ask Andy Ritchie!
I'm sure he ll have things worked out. Imo he needs to give our present players a chance, I think most of them can improve further. But do need some additions definitely.
Without disrespecting the squad that came up with Ritchie most of them were in their primes & weren’t going to get any better. The current lot should be still improving given that most of them are aged between 22 & 26
Or you could ask Paul Heckingbottom and look at how well it went for him keeping pretty much the same squad.
If only that could have been maintained throughout the season. IMO that could easily have resulted in another season in the Premeir. But hey - things have worked out - we now have owners with the money to sustain a push into the Premeir.
What's with this myth that all players get better with age. Its simply not true and never has. Some do.. but a hell of a lot never do. The list is endless. Some hit their peak a sixteen, eighteen early twenties and are never seen again. One of the flaws with the plan I'm afraid..
I don't think Daniel needs any advice. He has managed in the German Bundesliga and their second division. Seems to me the bigger question was could he cope with the English 3rd tier .. which he has. I'm pretty confident we'll do fine in the championship, if we keep the squad together. I reckon this is a stronger team than the one that went up last time. The problem, as then, will be keeping our best players. Trying to rebuild wholescale in the championship is an absolute non starter if you want to survive.
Spot on, the thing we should be trying to do is get the likes of Lindsay pinnock mcgeehan and Davies on new deals keep the squad together and make some additions and I honestly think we could not just make the numbers up. I'm not holding my breath though said before I think clubs will be in for our players even though we have been promoted.
I think that in general terms most players are better in their late 20s than their early 20s. I would suggest that the list of players who peaked under 25 is much shorter than the one of players peaking above that number.
I’d say the majority do. Most of the young players we sign get better with us. It’s certainly not true for all. Theo Walcott peaked at about 21
I'd ask him why he sulked for six months instead of getting on with job and why he added to the negative mood at the club and ****** off to them ***** up road who he'd said hated three months prior.
