    What do we reckon then?

    Player of the Season: Adam Davies. During our sticky spell about a month ago, Davies must have saved us so many points. Incredible performance at Donny, likewise at home to Shrewsbury. Those 1-0 wins we're vital around that time. Honourable mention: Ethan Pinnock

    Suprise of the Season: Alex Mowatt. Out on loan at Oxford a year ago, generally thought of as a talented waster who likes his pop too much. Fast forward a year and you've got a bloke who can control a game from midfield, who also seems to have previously unknown levels of fitness. A revelation. Honourable mention: Jacob Brown

    Letdown of the Season: Kenny Dougall. A little harsh this maybe, as injury curtailed a promising start. However, Dougall seemed a little off the pace when he came back after his bad injury - in particular whilst McGeehan was suspended. Hopefully a full pre season will see him back to that early season form - I reckon he'll do well in the Championship.

    Definitely harsh! Suffered two very nasty injuries. Always difficult to get up to speed, and as Cameron McGeehan showed it can sometimes take a very long time. So I don't think that Dougall has let himself down at all. Although it was definitely a disappointment for me that we didn't see more of him.

    I also think he's got the potential to look very classy in the Championship, and look forward to seeing it hopefully.

    Or the bullet point version;

    * We played brilliant football
    * We went up.

    Mowatt for both.

    Think he’s been incredible & no one saw it coming. Back at the start of the season when we were talking about the make up of the squad & that we had plenty of attack minded central midfielders (Potts, McGeehan, Moncur, Mallon) there were lots who were happy to see Mowatt leave to free up space for other positions.

    At the heart of everything we do. Our most creative player, our set piece taker, the best passer in the team, probably the hardest working player in the team, chips in with goals. To me he’s our most important player & the one player in the squad I’d want to keep above all others.

    Honourable mentions to Davies, Pinnock, Lindsay, Cavare, McGeehan, Brown, Woodrow & Moore, they’ve all been excellent.

    Agree with everything you have written, though I would add Pinnilos in there.
    Pre-season, those repetitive 'we need to sign X,Y & Z' threads, left back was a position that kept getting a mention.
    But I think Pinnilos has been excellent and really subscribed to Stendel's attacking style.
    I think him and Lindsay don't get enough praise.

    That's what I meant really. Not a letdown on a performance level, but probably rather that we didn't see more of him. To be honest, it goes to show how well we've done, because I was seriously scraping the barrel looking for a letdown!

    Sounded desperate to make sure he was fit for the championship next season on his interview. IT must have been a very frustrating season for him

    Yeah, but my Pinnilos has a bonus 'n' and a missing 'l' so would possibly beat yours at Scrabble.
    (Thanks for the correction, however. I feel rather stupid now)

    To be fair you’re right he’s had a really good season, I was just thinking that the left back role has been shared out a bit with Fryers & Williams but he’s probably played as much as Moore & Brown who I’ve mentioned

    Maybe these returns from injury show our fitness levels? If it takes so long to catch up, is it because you're having to go a long way?

    Daniel Pinillos has been excellent - most underrated influence on this side. Reminds of Neil Tommo but with more mobility. Steady guy, uses the ball well, defends well, and always gives 100%. Liked Dougall too - not his fault his season was blighted with injury.

    A broken leg is a broken leg. Players try to keep as fit as they can during the time it's broken but you cant hurry the process and risk longer term complications.

    I thought fitness wise Mowatt was always up there. Didn’t he do really well in the bleep test before getting shipped out on loan last season? He is certainly on another level performance wise though.

    Most of all have been mentioned on here i.e Davies, Lindsay, Pinnock, Pinillos, Mowatt, McGeehan, Moore and Woodrow. We have a great spine to the team huh?!

    Regarding let down I’m not sure really. I’m not sure what is happening in the background but I would expect Zeki Fryers to be good in this league and he’s not really been involved at all. His cameo at Donny was impressive but nothing else comes to mind. I would expect him to depart this summer.
