Because it's not being played till may 23rd (too long after the end of season reason given). Feel sorry for the North Gawber lads.
I take it this is the Final and it’s at Bramall Lane? If so I can only deduce that the date of the final would’ve been held back until it was known that Sheffield Utd were not involved with the play-offs. Still poor from Frickley though.
I fully understand Frickleys decision. Having tried their socks off to get to the final only to find that their overseas signings have left for their end of season holiday leaving only kids to represent them against the mighty Gawber from 2 leagues below who can blame them for not putting their lofty reputation on the line. How could anyone blame them for not giving the kids from the academy a chance to play at Bramall Lane
Isn't that the same cup where Shaw Lane pulled out of the final because it was scheduled the day before their playoff final?
I'm currently on holiday in Barbados and have seen 2 frickley players dining at Sandy Lane: looks like one of them has copped off with Katie Price too.
I’m told that Frickley didn’t want to play unless the final was pulled forward to April, because they would have to pay their players for an extra month if it was played in May.
Such a shame really. The North Gawber team have had a lot to deal with (losing their manager in such horrific circumstanes). On the Frickley website it states: "Will we be fined?: yes "Do we care?: no
Are they Bolton in disguise? Also they sacked the Manager "for financial reasons". So basically they knew they would be without a manager for the final. Smacks of pre-planning to me.
Frickley have a great bunch of U23s who would have jumped at the chance to play at Bramall Lane for nothing. P!!ss poor in my opinion.
Happens all over the country it seems https://www.havantandwaterloovillef...ooville-club-statement-friday-may-3-2019.html
