It was 2 with an option of 3 in the clubs favour. That won’t be triggered so he leaves Oakwell technically at the end of June, when contracts usually run out.
i wish him nothing but the best. he's been blighted with injuries and regardless of what people say, he's a young lad that just wants to play football. will probably be forced into retirement or lower league football over the next few seasons. 30 before you know it and his career just passed him by. he's a nice lad. it's not nile ranger or ravel morrison we're talking about.
I think his height has always been a problem for him really. If he'd have been another 5-6 inches taller and had a bit more meat on him, he might have been a different prospect.
I don't get the angst from some. If he does nothing else in his career, he sealed a promotion for us. His goal knocked the stuffing out of Millwall and put the Play Off Final out of their reach. Who knows what would have happened if it had still been 2-1 in those last 15 minutes.
Felt sorry for Quasimodo when he married Esmeralda. They had ordered 3 D images for their album. Photographer phoned him to tell him it was ready for collection, but there was a problem. For some reason, they couldn't get it to close.
He comes back to us after Portsmouths final game on Saturday. Let's see what Daniel and the other coaches have to say when he returns. If they can get him fit and he can show some form who knows what he might be capable of. He's never played in the Championship for us. Might suit him.? We will wait and see.
Even better let's just give him a 40 year contract. Retire on us Lloyd you deserve it after nodding home a few seasons back. Seriously though I think Marc nails it I wish him well, but he has made 25 appearances in 2 years it just hasnt worked this time, he was on big money at Southampton I hope he gets himself fit and gets a league one or 2 club.
We're going to need some serious strengthening on the flanks in the summer. I wish him well but I don't think Izzy is going to be the answer.
Do we know that for certain DT. ? I just wondered if they might want to see if he can recover and resurrect his career before letting him go. You're no pig tatey if you can earn a contract for five years with a Premiership club and represent your Country at U21 and first team level. Granted he was farmed out on loan to get experience for most of his time with the Saints and has only got a single cap, but there has to be something in there that saw his Managers persevere with him.

What a magical moment he gave us a Try wembley, and he was in essential ingredient to our promotion, but there’s no room for sentiment here. We will have paid him a hell of a lot of money over the last couple of years at a guess towards £400,000 to £500,000 and got little in return. Time to cut our losses and wish him all the best. It’s fairly rare for footballers to be blighted so much by injury early in their career and then miraculously play 40 games a season. I hope this is the case for him and wish him all the best luck in the world but we are run on a tight budget and need to free his wage up for someone else. Best of luck Izzy, thanks for the memories
