    You could make quite a decent team from that lot - but would it be as good as the one we have now?

    People have serious red tinted glasses when it comes to ex players. No matter what they’ve done in the years following leaving us they choose to remember a handful of games where they were performing well for us. Should see them begging Ashley fletcher to come back on twitter!

    I do wonder what's happened to Mason Holgate. I thought he looked the business for us, and was making steady progression at Everton. Fancied he'd be a regular starter by now. Has he been injured, or just fallen out of favour?

    Still only 22. He's been at West Brom this season on loan. I remember him playing well against Liverpool, but getting into some trouble. Can't remember what for, though. Maybe that's contributed to his losing favour?

    My WBA mates speak highly of Holgate and would love to get him on a perm.
    He seemed to fall out of favour at Everton after the spat with Firmino, and the subsequent revelation of his childhood tweets.

    Saying that, am surround by Toffees fans at work (only slightly less 'superior' than Liverpool fans) and they rate 'ar Mason highly too and see him as the future.
