    In all of this I want to know why so many programmes on tv quote distances in kilometres yet all road signs and car instruments are in miles.

    Me too. Also hate the constant use of kilometres too, in news reports and suchlike. We still measure distances in miles e.g road signs. I've no idea how kilometres work.

    May I point out that when I do weigh myself, I tend to suspect that there is something wrong with these stones and pounds.

    Whenever I mount the scales, the reading seems to increase.

    So I am open to a more accurate system.

    I cant believe 9% want to go back to the old Pounds Shillings and Pence - using a decimal based currency is a lot easier - and yes I am old enough to remember the old days
