First, thank you for your efforts this season. Some of the Football you have produced has been truly outstanding and you have been a pleasure to watch, both home and away. The memories you have created will last a lifetime. Second, some of you haven't been here for long but is case you didn't know: As a Football Club we've often been ignored or patronised or both - by other Clubs/fans and in the media. It's given some of us a 'bit of a chip on our shoulder' about how we are perceived. Some of us have even suggested we don't get a fairness of approach from Officials or the Football authorities! Hey ho. we deal with it and move on. The success we have achieved as a Club has only come through our own efforts - when our unity and togetherness is not in doubt. This is where you come in. On Saturday when you emerge from the Tunnel, you will have the whole club behind you; The Board, the Coaching Staff (with whom you have produced such wonderful football this season), the backroom staff and most of all - us - the Fans. You don't have to concern yourselves with what's going on with Luton, Sunderland or Portsmouth or about next week at Bristol for that matter. All that matters is that you perform, that you continue to play in the fantastic way in which you've played this season because, make no mistake, when Barnsley FC play their football, there isn't a team in this League who can live with us - no one. Most of you will have long and successful careers, hopefully some of it at Barnsley. Saturday is the day that you cement your names in the long and proud history of this Football Club. If you feel nervous, look around the Dressing Room or the pitch at the sheer quality of your Teammates and your Coaches, and relish the opportunity to play in their company. Saturday is your day. Make it happen. COYR
Can I add, why did you all choose to have rare off days whenever I attended - in this magnificent season I've seen us win away fewer times than I did last season when we were relegated! Joking aside, huge thanks to Stendel and the rest of the lads and lasses for making it a season to remember, even if ultimately we don't go up.
Bravo! Like that. Can you do a similar one for the fans, please? Something on the lines of Wear red, bring a flag, scarf, don't stop encouraging, even if it's not going to plan....
It would look amazing if everyone brought a scarf a waved it above their head like they do abroad, three full stands oakwell bouncing I'm getting giddy
I'm at the Blackpool game.... But thankfully couldn't get a ticket for Bristol Rovers! Did manage to get one for Rochdale, Coventry, Charlton, Sunderland, Wycombe, Portsmouth, Donny, Walsall and Burton though. 2 wins, 2 draws and 5 defeats when our overall away record is won 11, drawn 5 and lost 6
Wouldn't take much for the club to suggest it to fans via their networks. @YTBFC ? Would be great if we could crank up the atmosphere that extra notch.
We'll said DT one of the most rousing posts I've read on here. I hope that we, the supporters get behind the team from the kick off to the final whistle come what may and end our season on a fantastic note. We're all in it together!!! COYR
