Jovo Bosancic was ludicrous, with his rolling around followed by jumping up the next minute, and his praying hands. Good player though. I think Paul Gibbs should also be on the list as he clearly cheated someone to get employment as a professional footballer.
Allan Clarke. Part of the great Dirty Leeds set up, so knew every trick in the book. First time I’d ever seen a player of ours use them - normally had it done to us. No better example than the 2-0 win at Swillsbrough November 79. Reffed the game throughout. Had their fans going mental at his antics. Loved it then and love it still.
Jovo needs to be much higher, he came from a highly regarded European school of acting and brass neckery the likes of which we hadn’t seen at Oakwell before.
Jovo was the first player I remember wearing short sleeves and gloves. Sheff U away - promotion season - great player
Conor was a proper youknowwhat. I remember him treading on someone's toes against Peterbough (I think), then going down like a tonne of bricks when the bloke retaliated.
Reading wasn’t it? When he got McCleary sent off? Thats when I knew Conor was a master of the shithousery.
One of the funniest moments I’ve ever seen at Oakwell was Brian Joicey or Roger Wilde. Got goalie to throw ball to him. (Goalie thinking ref had blown for a foul/offside to his team) Brian or Roger then booted ball into net and Referee gave the goal.
I can remember Alan Little winning a penalty with the worst dive ever and laughing his head off. Up stepped the England penalty taker, Allan Clarke, who missed
I seem to remember It was Neil Warnock, in his brief time at Oakwell, who invented diving in the penalty area.
