If they had been banning him for just watching Fulham I could understand it lol https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/world-us-canada-47876650
I think the name came more from the fact it had blemishes in the chocolate. Agree big jump from crispy & fluffy but racist?
The guy should just have bought a long number plate 'PLAYUPYOUNEUTRALSHIRTEDMULTIETHNICCHAPS'. It's his own fault.
It only seems mad to us because we know the context. The average person outside the UK won’t know the context of a) the fact that Fulham play in white, what FFC stands for etc. and b) the fact that “Come on you {colour}” is a popular saying/chant etc. In British football. Race is also a much bigger issue in the US than it is over here. Berating them not allowing this, from the same people that say things such as “anyone coming here should learn our language, adapt to how we live” is a bit rich and very hypocritical.
I agree. If someone wanted to write something that sounds incredibly racist to us but said it meant a different thing in their country of birth we wouldn’t just say ‘crack on then’. People would say buy a car there then and write it but you can’t have it here.
I'm a bit surprised that anyone in the US understands that COYW is an abbreviation, let alone what it means. That said, "When in Rome... " and all that.
