found an old Barnsley Chronically 21st dec
Stendel a bit sorry to see Bradshaw going. We will not be selling any players without it is a large bid
Will be a quiet transfer window as we have the players to push for promotion. They are good enough but they have to play at a good standard to succeed.
Our chief exec Says if we need a player we will get one. .????
So that prediction was all bollokcs .
Then we proceed to sell Potts, Moncur , and let sick note all go, no replacements
So are this board really behind our Gaffer and Barnsley fans. Not covered there selves with ambition as yet.
I think we will lose some players and our coach end of year.
Hope we lose that load of only young players at the same time. With the money they have and our kitty we need more ambition

I think we got £1.5 million for Bradshaw. Amazing bit of business. We sold a very likeable and hardworking, but limited, player for much more than he was worth and replaced him with a striker twice as good for less than half the price.

But that isn't the full story. Conway stated that the only disappointment from the summer transfer activity was that we didn't get our main target - Conor Chaplin from Portsmouth. Not that I put any blame on our recruitment team for that, Portsmouth wouldn't sell him to us. But that proved we wanted an additional striker, not just a replacement for Bradshaw. We then had 4/5 months to identify an alternative to sign in January and we had a fair chunk of the Bradshaw money to buy him with. We decided to sign a player who wouldn't be available to us for the rest of the season. It's difficult to assess that decision without swearing.

The news down pompy was chaplin was always signing for cov ....they had never even heard of our interest.
That doesn't mean we wernt in for him but there was a connection between him and the sky blues and as I say he was always going there.....whatever, it still gave us long enough to identify another suitable striker.
For a club that actually employs a team to research data and players for us, we have failed spectacularly in this area.
A champ loan would have done us (I actually felt we needed at least 2).
