I know they're all big games, but we've now got the opportunity to put us 8 clear of Sunderland and 7 of Pompey, who still have each other to play at Sunderland. Sooner have the points in the bag than the pressure of winning games in hand.
Our record against Coventry has improved in recent years. However, they are a bit of a bogey team. That coupled with Clem sniffing around Oakwell doesn't bode well. Mark Robins their manager too and us playing like a sack of ***** last two matches. Hope I've read the wrong script
If we won on Saturday we would have 3 less pressure games than Sunderland, and full weeks in between games for R & R whereas they play every weekend and tuesday.
Gotta win Saturday. Points on the board is better than games in hand. Beat Coventry and we will take some catching with the pressure and quick succession of games. I expect Burton Albion for the following week will be sold out this week with today being season pass holders and Thursday being general sale. Win there too and it would be scenes of Walsall proportions.
Been on a decent run of late. Think last week was first defeat in half a dozen. It'll be a tough game, but then I think they all are. Sometimes we've made them look easy.
You would hope so as they are the home team but Clough is known for being overly cautious, just ask any blunts! He's not going to do us any favours and their game plan at Oakwell worked very well but it ruined the match somewhat as a spectacle IMO. Not sure they even had a shot on target that night but we just never got going.
