Remember him? Loan player from Stoke but I thought we might have gone for him, played 19 times for us, scored 6 goals. Since then been on loan at various lower league clubs and in the 56 games he's played since leaving us he's scored 3, now plays for Chester. Lucky escape? Or did he just suit the way we played and found it easier to score?
It's hard to know how players will turn out at a relatively young age with few games under their belt. I thought he looked like he could become a decent League One player but that seems not to be the case. Think he had bad luck with injuries. I also thought Paul Digby might make it and look how that turned out. I also think Victor will play the majority of his career in the Conference but you never know.
I'm not entirely convinced that DS does really rate him, just we are sadly short of options so he doesn't have much choice but to give him a try. As for Waring, I really rated him and thought he would go on and become a cracking player. But I also thought Chris Wood and Jonathan Walters were crap. Just shows what I know
People keep saying on here bahre needs a run of games to come good. When has victor ever had a run of starts? I thought he did ok at Donny with nothing to feed off and played a part in the goal yesterday. I don't know how good he will turn out but I haven't seen enough to judge really, especially when some on here get so defensive over bahre when he has had plenty of opportunity over the season but don't mind slating a kid who has been limited to a couple of starts all season.
Rates him that much that he starts him once in a blue moon.. even when our striker options are zilch. I know he got another contract from the club, but that's not Stendel's job is it... Don't think he's improved one bit, infact quite the reverse..
I would never, ever in a million years have predicted than Jonathan Walters would have had a solid Premier League career, and been a regular international to boot. He was absolutely hopeless when we had him on loan, but obviously did a whole lot of developing after he departed.
He put some timber on died his hair Philip Schofield grey n' learnt how to jump. There's hope for me yet.
