.......... very weak performances against Sunderland and Doncaster. We can clearly see that certain players in our team are far better than the opposition - but players missing are replaced by far inferior players. Good team ........ not good enough squad.
There was a post on here a while back dealing with squad depth - I've just tried to find it but can't. But our we've just drawn away at the 6th in the league with 5 of our starting 11 missing. It would suggest our squad depth is fine.
When he reads this tonight, he'll be so pleased that you told him. Imagine him thinking something different to an expert like yourself. A+ Young Nudger.
Not many league 1 squads can replace like for like players of the standard of Moore Dougal, Mcgheehan, Pinnilos and Brown. Bradshaw, Moncur and Potts pushed their moves away. The heavy winds affected both us and Sunderland on Tuesday. Fryers, J Williams, Adebejo hardly played this season. B Williams first game back from injury. Green and Styles new to this league. We have played at a high pace and intensity all season and still kept pushing to the end. Doncaster are a decent team Sunderland are a decent team. Played 3 games in a week. We are second in the league. Well done Barnsley this week.
Because one post ribbing the team isn't enough, it makes perfect sense to open two topics to slag them off within 15 minutes. Really adds depth to the conversation!
Not many? None. None at all. We’ve had to try - played kids and folk out of position. And still not get beaten. Or even concede a goal. Against the teams in third and sixth.
You are reinforcing my point here. Sunderland and Doncaster were there for the taking. But when a few of our main players are absent we just don’t have enough back up to put these far inferior teams to bed. And it has to be said our first team is far infront of anything in this league. Our first team would be top of the league now. But it’s a squad game ....... we need a good squad NOT just a good team.
We've just played a play off rival with 4 players missing and 1 key one injured after 15 mins. We're unbeaten for months, nowt wrong with the squad.
We have a good squad. We've missed Moore, Dougall and Woodrow for large spells this season. Unfortunately, we've just had a week without four or five regulars. It happens. Yet we've got five points from nine, unbeaten, no goals conceded. I see that as grounds for positivity. Each to their own, mind.
Indeed it is. There’s no doubt in my mind that the Coach and the players are performing miracles at the moment but it might have been helpful if the Club had given them a bit of help a couple of months ago. Defensively we’re awesome but goals are an increasing problem, and it’s not the right time of year to have that problem.
I think we've scored plenty. We've just come up against a couple of good sides. Let's see how we fare next week.
