It's against the rules to try influence a referees decision. If he can't see it's a sending off without our players telling him then God help him. To be fair yesterday Woodrow was getting grabbed round the kneck the ref gave nothing and then gave a foul against us dougall ran over to him and told him Woodrow was getting gripped round the kneck didn't make a blind bit of difference but at least he knew.
That's my point. Referees are incompetent and we need to start standing up for ourselves and telling them when they've missed something
It’s a very difficult job - it’s mental really when you consider how good technology is and how much is at stake There should be 4/5 refs reffing the match via video imho That said having an inconsistent ref adds to the drama
When I played, I made a hundred tackles like the one brown made yesterday, likewise I’ll have had an equal number made on me. I can hand on heart state that in 35 years of playing, I never once went in to deliberately hurt anyone. In this day and age I would expect a yellow to be shown but the red was ridiculous in my opinion
what annoyed me was Southend player ,making a big deal of getting back up, when he not even been touched
But when your captain is between the sticks you’re allowed an outfield captain as well - vice captain. Mowatt was doing all that on Saturday if you watched him. Normally it’s Moore.
Yep. If your captain is a keeper you’re allowed a vice captain as an outfield player. Our VC is Moore but was Mowatt on Saturday
Their man play acting played a part in getting brown sent off when in reality they wad little if any contact. It's never good to see a player faking injury to get a player sent off or players asking the ref to card or send a player off but I suppose it's part of the game now. Surprised their player didn't make more of mcgeehans studs but maybe he thought it was accidental.
