Oops. To be fair though their sports journalism has always been exceptional. Just proves that even the Times needs better proofreaders

By far the best paper for sports coverage, even go as far to say exceptional.

Sport for me is a-political (aside from the south african rebel cricket tours). I can read the sports section without feeling the need to read any of the political guff which is not of my persuasion. I can do that rationally in an adult manner.

Me too, but I can’t contribute in any way shape or form to a Tory rag.

Fair enough: i'm sure there will be plenty of people on here like Keith who would not buy The Mirror on principle too.

Not really read much of any of the broadsheets recently, but the Telegraph was always generally regarded as having the most comprehensive sports coverage back in the day.

I used to get the Chron but stopped straightaway when they published a “Vote Tory” advert just before the election - they said it was a paid advert but looked like the front page. The torrid did the same with a number of local papers around the “labour heartlands” but, for the Chron to do it, was a betrayal! I’ll never buy it again.
