Is there any chance that, just possibly, he's neither effing useless or the next best thing to Alf Ramsey? That he's proved reasonable or reasonablish as a manager. Nothing to write home about as yet.
And maybe we could all just shut up about him until some conclusive evidence one way or another emerges?

Couldn’t stand watching the style of football he had us playing but he’s a nice bloke & I wish him well plus I think him leaving meant I got a second trip to Wembley so it’s hard to dislike him.

He’s doing well at the minute as he’s got Bristol about 5 or 6 places above where they should be but in reality that’s no different to having Barnsley about 16th or 17th in the championship. Decent but hardly groundbreaking.

Plus he’s like Alan Pardew in that he goes on good streaks & bad streaks so there’s a good chance he’ll have Bristol back where you’d expect them to finish within a few weeks.

 

He lost 6 in a row with Barnsley (and had won 6 out of the last 6 league games before he left). He also lost 6 in a row with Bristol City in the 16/17 season amongst a horrible run which saw them win just 4 times in 29 games.

He never lost 9 in a row for both teams though.

You're misremembering. He lost 6 games (of any description) in a row and lost 8 consecutive league games (broken up with with 2 league trophy wins). Never lost any combination of 9 in a row though. After the Altrincham game (up until he left) he was:

P16 | W11 | D2 | L3

Or

P16 | W9 | D4 | L3

If you see penalty wins as drawn games after extra time.

 

Ahh. I can't see Conan's posts, but I can see he's liked this particularly cerebral and uniquely insightful post.

If site admin are monitoring this, I wonder whether they think this kind of response is acceptable to them.
