I disagree, if you consider someone evil like I do her I wouldn’t share or give publicity to anything she says even if I agreed with some of what she said.

I’m not saying she’s as bad as a murderer or a paedo I’m just saying I consider them evil as well & don’t have interest in what they’ve got to say

'tis true . She's a British citizen and above all someone's daughter . If she was my daughter I'd want her home no matter what she had done .

I look forward to the threads where posters start saying victims of grooming and underage sex "knew what they were doing". If that is not the case (which it is not!) then being groomed and brainwashed to go live in a war zone for 4 years whilst being abused by jijadi nut jobs, isn't either.

it's not, it's really not. Jacob Rees Mogg held a view that would really surprise you if it was possible to divide up peoples opinions based on politics. Something like this goes way beyond political views.

People: Terrorists grooming young kids is of real concern. We should do all we can to stop this evil and protect these poor kids from these Jijadi nut jobs.

    Time passes ......

    Same people:

This (then) 15 year old girl wasn't groomed, she knew what she was doing. She's the enemy, a traitor! Throw her in jail, she deserves all she gets. Who cares what she's been through.

1: in general no I don't and I don't think we will in this case. However I don't think we should help to bring her back, definitely not from Syria.

2: You keep referring to baying mobs which is very strange. I believe very strongly in the rule of law and if you commit a crime in a country then you must stand trial in that country if that country wants to put you on trial. That doesn't seem to be the case here so she will stand trial in this country if she returns.

Key points on reading the thread:

    1) Katie Hopkins is a horrible person. Not watching the video as not interested in what she has to say.

    2) You can strip someone of their passport but not their nationality, unless they hold dual citizenship.

    3) She needs arresting on her return, if she returns, to ascertain whether she has been radicalised or not and whether it is in the public interest to take her to trial.

I'm somewhere between what you are saying and what the others are saying.

You cannot assume she has been groomed, just as much as you cannot assume she hasn't.

She is 19, she joined a terrorist group - the worst terrorist group the world has seen, she went there of her own free will, she has no remorse and still supports the ideology so poses a very real threat if she returns. Of course she has to stand trial. She can't really be compared with the groomed girls you keep referring to.

I doubt most 15 year old school girls read Jijadi text or interview terrorists on the interweb as part of the national curriculum.

I find some of the comments on here staggering in their naivety. i.e. Claiming this girl is an "innocent" and a victim of grooming.
Now I am sorry but given the following I cannot believe anyone can seriously claim that to be true

She is totally unrepentant. She states she has no regrets and was not phased by seeing beheaded heads in bins.

Whilst one has to accept that combatants in wars are trained to kill and many become desensitised after long exposure to war conditions, only a few ever go off the rails and commit or even condone atrocities. However these are classed a war criminals.
Having just watched the documentary series on the Vietnam War, whilst incidents like the Mi Lai massacre occurred together with many other atrocities on both side, many suffer PTSD and other mental conditions and rapidly realise that what they had done or witnessed was appalling.

The sole reason she seems to want to return is that IS has been forced out of where she was, she is heavily pregnant (that in itself precludes her flying). She seems to want her child (the progeny of an ISIS fighter) to be a special case. What about all the other children of Jihadis who are stranded in a Hell hole of their parents making? Just because she was born in the UK why should she be treated differently? She made her bed (literally) so should lie in it. Groomed or not, anyone with a shred of normality or human decency would retrospectively be revulsed by what they saw. She clearly is not.
The long term danger is two-fold.
One, she is unrepentant and remains an ISIS follower making her a major security risk.

Two, She could even be a 'sleeper'. Even if she underwent rehabilitation the likelihood she could ever be a fit mother in the short to medium term, is remote. Indoctrination is one thing, after all, the majority of the German population fell for the Nazi propaganda. However, most of the people were never directly exposed to the real atrocities being carried out in their name until it was too late and those that were either too frightened to speak out, were sufficiently indoctrinated to tow the line or were silenced.

In pure monetary terms, why should the UK taxpayer fund what would be a very long term and expensive course of action when there are far more deserving people that should take precedence. Prosecution - expensive legal system, medical treatment, child adoption, social services, subsistence for both mother and child as well as many years of monitoring by security services (she will always have to be considered a security risk)

And also the law states a trial must be conducted to ascertain guilt or not .
People on here making their own arguments I’m not making an individual case at all I’m saying she should be examined by our laws.

Doubtful yes but I'm sure you had views about things that you still hold to this day. I'm not one way or the other on this, you can't presume anything.

She was 15 when she left. Indoctrination is a powerful thing. I'm not saying she should be left to her own devices when she returns, but whereas you see 15 year old school girls as having a mature brain that acts out rational free will, I see her first as a victim of an evil terrorist ideology who needs help.

We don’t know that’s the whole Point ! She needs to go on trial.
The point about she wasn’t groomed or mislead we need to know.
You say she can’t be groomed then your also saying others can’t be groomed or mislead? Which is totally untrue and arrogant . We know this can happen as it’s hsppening now all over Britain with children of same age being groomed by peadod and some being urged to commit suicide so your wrong .

Reading this discussion with interest. There are some very strong arguments on both sides. Had she outright denounced the ISIS ideology, I think most people would view her far more sympathetically. However, brainwashing is indeed a very powerful thing. While legally (and ethically) her case should be dealt with fairly and without prejudice via the UK legal system if she does return, I read an interview with a security expert whose main concerns centred around the fact that many terrorist cells are run from inside UK prisons. So even if she were to be incarcerated, it wouldn't necessarily stop her being a security risk. It's a tightrope, and I'm glad I'm not the one in charge of making the big decisions on this case.
