No they didn't. A very small number of people jumped on the free Tommy bandwagon. Most people agreed that he got what he deserved for contempt of court.

It's nothing to do with racism. She joined a vile, murderous, barbaric organisational who are our enemy and who would behead you in the blink of an eye so of course their are some passions raised that she now wants to return the the country she turned her back on.

My biggest reservation is the total lack of remorse she has. She doesn't regret going, she still supports their ideology, so still poses a very real danger if she is allowed to return.

Maybe if she voted Tory some people may be less accommodating.

No one on here is holding her as a beacon of common sense so pack it in with the ********. You do realise that as a socialist you would have agreed with some of the policies of Adolf Hitler? Doesn't mean you regard him as a bastion of common sense.

Regardless of any of it, she is a uk citizen, why should Syria deal with her? As per my other post; how would you feel if, for example, Jamaica, refused to take back a Yardie? Of which we deport a number every year.

She wasn't brainwashed at all. That's a lazy excuse for what she did. She is a bright and intelligent (study wise at least) straight As pupils. She wasn't some love struck lass who believed BS off a guy who used her for sex and went cold on her. At 15 you know right from wrong and it was very clear what life would be like if she went to Syria. She's got Bangladesh in her so could go there. Her husband is Dutch so she could go there.

If she came back here her benefits and use of the NHS would be peanuts compared to the round the clock protection she would need for the rest of her life, which could easily be half a century. Many would view her the same way as Jon Venables and Robert Thompson and get her if given half a chance. She was unfazed by seeing a severed head and doesn't regret going. She's not been crying about missing her family, favourite TV shows and favourite musicians (British values).

 

Saying somebody is talking g sense doesn't mean you are holding them up as a beacon.

Have Syria tried to deport her? I would have thought that if there was a functioning government there they might want to put her on trial themselves. If she does make it back to the UK then she must face proper judicial process here.

 

There is no mob with torches. Heaven forbid that people should have concerns about an individual who traveled thousands of miles to become a terrorist though.

 

As I said in my original post, I doubt you would call the Syrian justice system fair or free, therefore we should ask for her return.

It is possible that a person can stand for nearly everything you oppose but by some miracle you end up agreeing on one thing.

 

Do you though? You have an idea of right and wrong but at 15 your personality and ideals are far from fully formed. You think you know everything at 15 when you really don't. Would you be happy to go back in time and let the 15 year old version of you make all your major decisions in advance? I definitely wouldn't. There's a reason the age of consent is 16...

 

Why? She chose to make Syria her home so if she has committed crimes there then it's up to them if they want her to stand trial. If they don't and she comes back here then she stands trial here.
