I find a fundamental irony that those who consider anyone highlighting something unacceptable take more umbrage and faux outrage than those highlighting that something just isn't on.

Offence isn't usually taken by someone highlighting bigoted, racist, homophobic, sexist instances... typically by people who profess to be neither bigoted, racist, homophobic, sexist, etc.

 

Evil and badness only exists where good people do/say nothing

 

I take your point and agree with you in the main.
My comment was in response to this incident and the responses to in in the media.

 

It's more than that though isn't it? It's people on a witch hunt, determined to end someone's livelihood for a past mistake.

I think we all agree that what he did was out of order, it is more that society takes the moral high ground and is relentless in pursuing someone that doesn't sit well with me.

 

Should we all be punished for things we said,wrote or thought in anger or stupidity or jest 15 or 20 years ago?

 

I'm sure there are many who wouldn't agree he was out of order. They usually hide behind snowflake type wording to hide their own bigotry and hatred.

I don't tend to follow the gutter celebrity media. His industry will judge him accordingly. All I have at my disposal is to say he's clearly displayed racist tendencies, but he doesn't seem to acknowledge that. Anyway, whatever happens will happen.
