    Afford Moore but paid £4m for Grigg. I think we were very lucky to keep him.

    Their fans are crowing about signing a Championship player. Not many years ago,
    they were signing top players for multi millions and had high profile Managers.
    It's right what their former full back Micky Gray has said " sadly SAFC are no longer
    a big Club."

    I think it's a good move for them.
    Proven goalscorer in this league!
    Don't think they will miss Maja at all now and have strengthened well overall in this window.
    They are well and truly right back in it now.
    And great PR to keep it quiet and announce today.

    How were we lucky? I thought you were of the opinion that any offer above your weekly pocket money and he and/or Pinnock would be off?

    Paying 4m and being able to afford 4m are two separate things.

    Seems a huge gamble financially

    Is typical that when we signed mcburnie late in deadline fa said papers not through in time, yet when Sunderland do it so late that even they this morning didn't know for sure, fa say its fine

    I’m saying if Sunderland offered us what they have payed for Grigg it would 100% been accepted. It’s been said we have rejected bids for players but I’m sure if that money was bid it wouldn’t have been rejected

    They didn't keep it quiet and announce today. We all knew last night but they couldn't make it official as the transfer hadn't been approved. We also knew that the £3 million bid was their 6th or 7th attempt at getting him. Fair play to Wigan.

    I actually don't think he'll get the goals they need (I'm sure this will get bumped when he bangs in a hat-trick at the weekend).

    Things to consider. Grigg is only a year older than KM. He's played over 200 more games. He's scored twice as many goals. Good few international caps.
    I'd value KM at £4mill. But based on a comparison I reckon the offer would have been half of what they've paid for Grigg.

    When have we ever turned down a bid like that? Just cos we have these owners dunt mean offers like that will be rejected. Anything less than that then they may have thought twice abart it but I just cannot see them turning money like that down or they may have fought that bit harder to hold out for more for pottsy.

    He can't know 100% can he it's just a figure of speech. I can't imagine us turning it down and really we probably shouldn't if someone did bid that much
