How refreshing is it that we've finally had the balls to say NO **** OFF to clubs bidding for our key players. Moore would've been sold for peanuts before we had this backing. Best bit of business in this window so far.
Giddings said no bids have been made for either. So if that's true it's fairly easy to have the balls not to sell them. For the right money both would have been sold. Such is football.
Giddings said we turned down a bid from bordeaux for cavare today. A mid table French league 1 side side team who have taken sunderlands top scorer.
Yeah that one, apologies I wasn't clear I was meaning in reference to the Moore would have been sold for Peanuts. I agree with you that we seem to be in a stronger position to hold out for a better offer. We also turned down a bid for Thiam, but it's not a case of "**** OFF to clubs bidding for our key players" It's more a case of we want a decent bid or they are staying, which is good for the club. If someone bid 3 or 4 million for Moore right now I reckon he'd be gone.
I don't disagree. I've said the same every club is selling club at a certain price. Ours needs to be higher as we have been pushovers for years.
How much did we turn down for players? I've seen no concrete figures so we have no way of knowing if the owners should be praised for rejecting bids or they were that low they didn't have a tough decision to make to accept them.
Sorry, I have to disagree. GG in his interview said there have been loads of bids. Of course there has, we are playing great football. Yes if a bid is very high, like for Potts, it is taken. The negativity on here at the moment is perplexing. We need stability in my opinion. End of the season cash in some chips & re-invest where necessary. Brown is showing what we can do developing talent. We need to keep DS & get him a new assistant & we are on our way in my humble opinion.
Sounds like we may be done for the day and we’ve kept the squad together. Hopefully it will keep the professional bleaters at bay for a while, at least until our next loss.
