In which case he should be saying “It is important for me to make sure this transfer window is completed before leaving"
Sell a couple of players to promotion rivals, let the managers confidante fck off and get in a couple of youngsters on the cheap. Cheers GG!
He doesn't need to, he has already said he's leaving afterwards. You don't half love splitting hairs!
That is what this sentence implies to me. With him leaving on Friday he still has one day left in office. “It was important for me to make sure this transfer window was completed before leaving, allowing Daniel and his staff to remain at the club with the best possible chance of promotion back to the Championship this season.
I can't see it taking long for him to be replaced. Conway won't want to spend longer than he has to over here at this time of year. He will quite rightly want to get back to California sharpish for some better weather.
Honestly. Champions League chasing Nice managed by Patrick Viera, a chunky pay rise, and a move back home, and you're claiming we're nothing but pawns? If Nice qualify for the Champions League would GG be the youngest CEO in the competition? Quite an achievement. Fair play to him.
Fair play to HIM yes. I wish him nothing but the best. I am talking about our owners who clearly see nice as their proper club.
You're way off on this one. Don't forget GG has been linked with other jobs in France over the last 12 months, so maybe this is their way of satisfying his career aspirations, getting him to see January through, an keeping him within their company rather than ultimately going somewhere else? Unfortunately they don't own a club smaller than us, but if they did then you might see the same incoming appointments to us over time.
Mmmm......why announce this departure tonight? There has to be a reason. I hope it's not because he'd get a right slating if he was announcing his disappearance the day after he'd sold more of the family silver.
if they're looking for a new CEO then doesn't it make sense to recruit somebody they know, trust, is suitably qualified, speaks the language and who they have worked with already. It makes sense to me.
That means you agree doesn't it? We are the smaller less significant club in their opinion. That's demonstrated by you saying if there was an even smaller one we would be 2nd in the pecking order and we would strip them of employees too.
It does but it shows pretty clearly that nice are number 1 to the owners and Barnsley number 2. Strengthening one club by weakening the other Look at it the other way. We now need a CEO. We know GG they have worked with him. Let's steal him from nice. See what I mean? Number 1 and number 2.
The timing might be to clear the way for a big news story tomorrow, a bit like taking the MoM off a couple of minutes early so he gets his very own standing ovation. I'm guessing but it would be nice.
That's not me agreeing at all. You're saying it negatively way like the owners don't care or are treating us as pawns, positioned in an attacking way. I'm saying there's a chance he was leaving anyway. They kept him in the company. If there was another team somewhere in their ownership model where working/playing for Barnsley would be seen as a significant promotion, we might benefit by them wanting to keep said person in the company.
Proper face plant moment. But Nice to Barnsley isn't a promotion so in your scenario GG wouldn't want to make the move.
