You need to replace it with a new, young bulb from the pound shop.

I'd advise against replacing it with a Moncur branded bulb, they're notorious for blowing after about 60 mins.

Try the Flitcroft bulb but it may flicker

But be aware. You could get lucky and it shine straight away.

Don't be disappointed if it takes until next winter before it begins to shine and then you have to replace it again because someone wants it for their limo

As a lad I was told to go to the Stores in our Works Depot and ask for a bulb for our Office as
the one we had, had blown. The Storekeeper was old school and was a stickler for detail.
I asked for a bulb and he asked who had asked me to collect it. I told him it was our Admin
Chief. He told me to go back and ask my boss which bulb he wanted " hyacinth, daffodil or
tulip".? My boss laughed and told me to go back and tell Cliff ( Storeman) he stood corrected
and could he give me a lamp.? He next sent me for a " long rest." The lad who served me let me
stand at the counter for 90 minutes and then came up and said " that's a long enough rest
****, you can go back now". Took me a while to clock they were extracting the urine.!

You fell for the "long rest" gag - oh dear It was a "Long Stand" where I was
Did you fall for the left handed screwdriver or new bubble for the spirit level ones as well

Lol reminded me of the day my boss sent me to stothards builders merchants in cudworth when I was an apprentice... We were working in cudworth and he sent me there for a long stand adding I will pick you up later ...knowing he was actually taking the p1 ss... I did as I was told...walked into stothards told the lads on the counter what was going on and that I wasn't daft and to tell him I would be in the timber shed when he arrived as I knew the joke..2hrs past before he got there ..in he walked with the lads pissing himself laughing calling me a thick 2hat ...soon wiped the smile of his face when all the stothards guys started laughing at him when i told him he'd just paid me 2 hours to do bug ger all and as a bonus I'd got him some sky hooks for tomorrow....happy days

I'm still looking for a tub of elbow grease. Any idea where I'll find it?

I think the toughest bulbs are the Lampards.
